Greetings from “The Lion King”

We are into the work days of September and October so prepare Yourself for being the "A NUMBER 1" volunteer of the Arroyo Grande Lions Club! First off we have a Zone meeting at Pismo Beach Lions on September 24th! Then we have the Harvest Festival on the 26th, 27th, and 28th! We expect to have a GREAT TIME so come on out and have some fun! We are also looking forward to a meeting at Dan Jones's Greenhouse on October 2nd. Pizza is the dinner of the evening - we need a count of people - spouse night, significant other night, it'll be fun! Seriously though, we do need workers for the Harvest Festival!. Remember the Lions Motto - WE SERVE! This is your chance to put the motto to work! From the ”LION KING”, JACK GATZ!

Lion Vice District Governor George Stewart
District News Cabinet meeting in Carpinteria

As you read this month's newsletter I'll be in Ft. Worth attending the USA/Canada forum. The three day event provides the opportunity to attend multiple seminars to discuss anything from "Building Interclub Relationship" to "Building a Web Page". I'm signed up to attend 12 of the forty plus general seminars. In addition all Vice District Governors in attendance will have the opportunity to visit with 1st VP Dr. Lee to learn of his expectations for next year. I will report on the Forum in the November issue. I hope to see you at Harvest Festival.
Thanks, George

Harvest Festival Time

Please mark your calendars; Harvest Festival Time is here again. September 26 set up Booth. On the 27th & 28th we will serve the best BBQ sandwiches in all of Arroyo Grande. Your continued support is needed to make this another great success!

Meeting Report

Our program on September 4th was Curtis Reinhardt, Executive Director of the Clark Center for the Performing Arts. Curtis told club members what was happening at the new south county performing arts center! Curtis gave a report on the current status of fund raising and he gave the members an invitation to join the Clark Center Association. Curtis also shared with the club some of the coming attractions at the Center. These attractions include: The Georgian State Dance Company. The Ballet Folklorico “Quetaalli” De Veracruz Riders in the Sky It looks like the Center is off to a great start.

Lions International News Lion International

Beginning in October, watch for the new Lions Web site! The site redesign will include a new look, new information, and new features-including a search function. The address will remain the same (www.lionsclubs.org), but you will need to update your bookmarked Lions Web pages, as they will change with the new site.

Tidbits

We are looking for volunteers at the EOC Health Fare coming up in late October in Nipomo. Contact Lion John to volunteer. The fun and activities continue. Join in, visit a club, or chair an activity. Let’s do it together!
